The show must go on!

With large, in-person gatherings on hold due to mandated lockdowns and quarantines, we are shifting our annual technology fair to a virtual format. The Oct. 1 RMM Tech Event will showcase the latest in business-enabling technologies — many of which we’re using to present this digital version of the region’s largest tech summit.

Cloud, collaboration and security technologies have made it possible for organizations to remain operational during the global health crisis, and they will represent much of the focus of our half-day event. A series of webinars, roundtable discussions and breakout sessions will feature top technical speakers from sponsors such as Cisco, ConnectWise, Aruba, HPE and Veeam.

RMM Solutions CEO Rimon Moses will kick off our event by providing a business owner’s perspective of challenges created by the pandemic and the subsequent economic downturn. He will provide an overview of the technologies that can help you respond to immediate operational issues while also creating long-term business resilience.

In his keynote address, ConnectWise CEO Jason Magee will discuss why the pandemic is forcing organizations to change their outlook on cybersecurity. He will also identify the most dangerous threats facing companies today and the seven essential security technologies every organization should have in place by 2021.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m. Sessions are between a half-hour and an hour long and fall into the following main topic areas:

Adoption of cloud services and platforms has surged as organizations shift more workloads online to cope with extended lockdowns. We’ll address a number of cloud-related topics, including the use of cloud-based backup for improved data governance, security and business continuity. We’ll also be discussing ways to develop and manage a multi-cloud environment, and why you should consider shifting data center operations to the cloud or a colocation provider.

Remote workers are inviting targets for a variety of cyberattacks because they lack many of the digital protections that they would typically enjoy in a secure office environment. We’ll discuss the importance creating a layered security environment with a variety of tools and solutions, including the use of Cisco Umbrella and Duo Security to protect users, devices, data and applications from attackers. Another session will focus on how to use security information and event management (SIEM) solutions to centralize management of your security environment.

Collaboration applications that combine voice, video, chat and file-sharing have become essential for helping dispersed team members remain connected, share ideas, solve problems and accomplish tasks. One session will show you how to turn any conference room into a video collaboration hub with Cisco’s unified communications solution. Another will examine how 5G wireless networks can provide collaborative experiences for K-12 schools. The day’s final event will focus on tips and tricks for making better use of the Microsoft Teams collaboration platform.

We hope you’ll make plans to join us for this informative event. In addition to the educational presentations about emerging solutions, you can experience a variety of product demonstrations and network with professional peers. You’ll also have a chance to win some fantastic prizes. Time is running out, though. Please go here to register and see the day’s complete agenda.
